Jaipur international airport (JTA) is in Sanganer at a distance of 13 kms from Jaipur. The civil smock has the capacity to accommodate 14 A320 aircraft. The newly constructed terminal building can handle up to 1000 passengers. The government is making plans for the expansion of the runaway to about 12000 ft and the efforts are being made to be able to handle 1000 passengers per hour. The ground handlings of all the flights at the airport are handled by Indo Thai Airport Management Services Pvt Ltd.
At Jaipur International Airport, international flights land at terminal 1 and domestic flights land at terminal 2. Some of the airlines starting from the airport are Air India, Air India Express, Air Arabia, GoAir, IndiGo, JetLite, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines, Spice Jet and Oman Air. Adjacent to the old passenger terminal building is the cargo terminal. The airline Blue Dart Aviation destined for Ahmedabad and Delhi takes off from cargo terminal. The newly constructed terminal building is very lavishly made of glass and steel structure and the terminal spreads over an area of about 22,950 sqm. Modernized facilities are provided to the passengers at the new terminal. Various expansion plans are being made for the airport. These plans are being made to extend the runway so as to make it suitable for the landing of Boeing 747 and Airbus A380. For this purpose the airport will remain closed for a period of 18 months from May 2012 to November 2013.
